Life Relocation recommends to corporations that, to minimise potentially costly problems in the future, a short visit should be organised for the family to experience their new city prior to making the final commitment to relocate.

The area orientation provides first-hand insight into the culture, suburbs and schools that would be offered by the new home. It provides a forum for any final issues to be resolved and anxieties minimised.

The orientation or familiarsation tour provides an opportunity to point out all the positive aspects of the city, and to foster enthusiasm for the relocation. This can be a general familiarisation of the city or a focused search of particular suburbs.
