Bupa successfully tendered for provision of comprehensive health services for the Department of Immigration and Border Patrol, Australia.The service contract will commence from 25 May 2014 for a three year term.
The three-year agreement with the Department of Immigration and Border Protection will see Bupa establish and operate a range of purpose-built medical assessment centres in major Australian cities, whilst managing a network of approved medical clinics to provide services in regional areas.
Commencing mid-year, these facilities will provide medical services and health checks to ensure that people applying for visas to migrate permanently or stay temporarily in Australia, satisfy health requirements specified in Australian migration regulations.
Details for the changeover from Medibank Health Solutions to Bupa is expected to take around six months to be fully implemented. The process change is expected to be announced by the Department shortly.
